Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update includes suit collab and fan favorites, available June 18

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update includes suit collab and fan favorites, available June 18 https://ift.tt/mf8EjMg

A brand-new, free update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2* is upon us and it’s bringing eight new suits to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – including some new designs and returning favorites from previous games. This update, dropping on June 18, also addresses some community feedback and adds stability improvements to the game.

First, we’re delighted to fully unveil four new suits created in partnership with Colm Dillane, AKA KidSuper, and some special guest collaborators. Evenly split between the Spider heroes, these are new takes on Spidey suits designed from the ground up by KidSuper, Vini Jr, Lando Norris, and Rina Sawayama. Check them out – along with some notes from each designer!

Metro Suit (Miles Morales) – Designed by KidSuper

Fashion designer, Colm Dillane, AKA KidSuper, created the Metro suit for Miles Morales, which comes with additional variant suit styles: red on black, classic Spidey, and teal on purple. KidSuper not only partnered with us to make these suits, but he also worked closely with our special guests to design their suits!

“The puffer design you often see in my KidSuper collections and the exclusive ‘original’ colorway! We came up with designs that felt super original, like something only we could pull off.”

– KidSuper

Ginga Suit (Miles Morales) – Co-designed by Vini Jr. and KidSuper.

Professional Football player Vini Jr. wears his inspiration on his sleeve. A love letter to Brazil and the beautiful, global game of Football, the Ginga suit features a design and default colorway reminiscent of both: a sporty look for Miles Morales with a black, green, yellow, and blue shader. Of course, this suit also features added styles: red on black, classic, and gold on white.

“I wanted it to be a celebration of Brazil’s culture and people. I just love the overall design because it has the energy and action that I associate Spider-Man with, but it’s beautifully mixed with some Brazilian flair. Which makes this suit super special and different from others.”

– Vini Jr.

Fluro Suit (Peter Parker) – Co-designed by Lando Norris and KidSuper

Motorsports phenom Lando Norris is all about moving fast. Paired with the high-speed action of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Norris’ suit reflects the pace – wholly inspired by racing, complete with a helmet and overalls familiar to those who burn rubber across global circuits. The Fluro Suit features its own suit styles with some variants such as a classic color scheme, white on black, and pink on blue.

“The main inspiration for the design was the feeling of speed. I also wanted to incorporate racing elements and materials like carbon, along with my trademark Fluro colour, which you can see throughout the suit. The carbon style effect on the suit is my favourite.”

– Lando Norris.

Motorchic Suit (Peter Parker) – Co-designed by Rina Sawayama and KidSuper

Singer/Actress/Model Rina Sawayama delivers a badass motorbike look to Spidey’s locker. Decked out in all leather, the Motorchic suit gives Peter Parker a revved-up design unique from any other in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The suit features other variants as well: a classic color scheme, black, and gold.

“I really wanted to explore my love of fashion whilst making this suit and what we ended up with I think encapsulates that, it’s fun, practical, edgy and chic. I personally love the metal detailing across the suit, it still feels like what I envision as classic Spider-Man but adds a more rugged feel. It looks pretty heavy duty and like it would stand up very well in combat!”

– Rina Sawayama

We’re also thrilled to announce four fan-favorite legacy suits from Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are being added to the game! Based on community requests, these four suits are being retrofitted for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, including two for Peter and two for Miles. See what’s in store below!

Last Stand Suit (Peter Parker)

Donning a red leather jacket, the Last Stand suit is a highly requested fan favorite coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! Now updated with our suit styles, the Last Stand suit gets a more classic variant, full black, and an Arachno-Man-inspired yellow and green.

Into The Spider-Verse (Peter Parker)

Inspired by Peter B. Parker’s design in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, this iconic look adds a Spider-verse flare to Peter Parker’s wardrobe. Enable the Film Style Animation mode via visual settings to get an even more authentic, filmic look!

Animated Suit (Miles Morales)

Miles gets a little animated. We’re adding Miles Morales’ Animated suit to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This suit is reminiscent of classic cartoons and comics of old.

Uptown Pride Suit (Miles Morales)

Complete with a gold trim, the Uptown Pride suit is a beloved favorite from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales that’s making its way to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! This time, the Uptown Pride Suit gets added colorways: silver trim, black on red, and blue on pink.

Finally, our latest update brings stability fixes to the game and addresses some player feedback, such as the ability to swap out your parry and traversal abilities from the Symbiote to Spider Arms, and vice versa. This update, version 1.003.000*, will be available on June 18th, so keep an eye out for it!

If you haven’t had a chance to jump in yet, now is a good time as any: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently featured in PlayStation’s Days of Play celebration! That means big discounts for physical and digital editions across PlayStation Store and at participating retailers! Be sure to get the game before the promotion ends on June 12, 2024!

We look forward to hearing what you think when the update hits next week!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hits PS5 on October 25

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hits PS5 on October 25

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hits PS5 on October 25 https://ift.tt/BrLPTfb

Attention, PlayStation players and Call of Duty fans — Black Ops is officially back! After four years, Treyarch and Raven are ushering in the next chapter in the vaunted Black Ops franchise with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, releasing on Friday, October 25. We’ve got intel on some of the modes and features coming to the game and more on items such as pre-order benefits you can earn between now and launch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hits PS5 on October 25

This will be signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, Multiplayer, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies. Get ready for a mind-bending narrative and to go beyond the rules of engagement in all three modes. In Black Ops 6, you’re never sure who to trust and what’s real – – but this blog is real, so let’s dive in!

The Black Ops 6 Campaign narrative

It’s the early ‘90s – a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. While the Gulf War commands the global spotlight, a shadowy clandestine force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA, branding anyone who resists as traitors. Exiled from their agency and country that once hailed them as heroes, Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and his team find themselves hunted by the military machine that created them. They are forced to go rogue, partnering with the criminal underworld to stay one step ahead of their own corrupted government. They’ll do whatever it takes to bring down the real traitors and clear their names — even if that means crossing the same lines as their enemies. There is no going back.

With the Campaign taking place in the years after the Cold War, longtime fans will recognize that this timeframe is directly connected to the 1980s flashbacks revealed during Black Ops 2 – the aftermath of which has left our heroes in dire circumstances.

In this new chapter, we see a different side of Frank Woods following his traumatic injury at the hands of Raul Menendez. His protege is Troy Marshall, who has been making a name for himself in the field. Marshall is a reluctant leader, driven by a strong moral compass.

Marshall and Woods are working with another new face in Black Ops 6: CIA handler Jane Harrow. She is a born leader, fearless and brilliant, and helps manage their relationships within the agency.

When an operation goes wrong, Woods and Marshall are suspended and ultimately forced to go rogue, and they soon realize they must trust each other to really get to the bottom of what’s going on. They must build their own team of rogue agents, recruiting two intriguing new characters in Felix Neumann, a technical genius, and Sevati Dumas, a mysterious assassin.

With a mixture of new and old faces, a legendary wildcard also returns to the fight – Russell Adler.  While his allegiances and motivations remain unclear, this former ally may have become a new and daunting enemy.

Dynamic moment-to-moment Campaign gameplay variety

Leading the development of the Black Ops 6 Campaign is Raven Software, and with this Campaign, their goal is to deliver more: an increased variety of mission structures, additional focus on player choice, and more options to finish each mission, with dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay throughout.

Mission variety is a key component of what PlayStation players can expect. From a map standpoint, some locations are more ideal for stealth, and some are more appropriate for large-scale battles, and the Campaign has a balance of both. These range from storming a palace to pulling off a heist in an opulent, southern European casino. Within the Campaign missions gameplay can unfold in multiple ways, giving the player the freedom to navigate through them as they see fit. This includes combat as well as conversation, as operatives talk, barter, and manipulate their way into different outcomes.

There are many more Campaign details that fans can find across Call of Duty channels, including details on enemies, equipment, the return of the Safehouse, and more.

A taste of what’s to come with Multiplayer and the return of RBZ

Treyarch is leaving no stone unturned in the development of both Multiplayer and Zombies. Many more details are coming later in the year on each of these modes but there are a few key things we can share now.

In Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. Many of these maps feature innovations on the classic three-lane map design, with quick time to engagement, and coming in the small to medium-sized range for the right amount of complexity. This allows for meaningful player choice, keeping the action flowing and the pacing optimal. A key point for Treyarch is that maps intentionally support gameplay variety.

But that’s not all. It’s time to rejoice, Zombies fans! Round-based Zombies is back in a massive way. Players will be able to take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch in the return of this fan-favorite mode. Players will experience the continuation of the Dark Aether storyline that started in Black Ops Cold War, with each map containing a curated mix of elements both new and familiar to discover.

And of course, in Black Ops 6’s post-launch seasons, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.

Introducing Omnimovement

Across the entire game, players will push beyond their limits with several new global innovations, including Omnimovement, the most fluid boots-on-the-ground Call of Duty movement to date. Movement has been a consistent area of focus and innovation across Call of Duty – and with Black Ops 6, Treyarch is redefining movement in a big way.

For the first time ever, players can sprint in any direction (forward, sidestepping, and backpedaling) and move like a true Black Ops action hero. This innovation immediately allows the player to move like never before and seamlessly chain combat maneuvers together, like sliding, diving, and a newly-enhanced supine prone, all with a full 360 degrees range of motion.

With Omnimovement – and core player movement in general – it’s not just about making the player move faster. This is Treyarch’s holistic approach to redefine what Black Ops movement really means. The upcoming Multiplayer Beta will be a perfect opportunity for PlayStation players to try it out for themselves.

There are many other exciting innovations and features coming to Black Ops 6, including the return of a more traditional Call of Duty Prestige system, but for now, let’s turn our attention to how you can get involved in the action.

Honkai: Star Rail update v2.3 brings new friends and Simulated Universe on June 19

Honkai: Star Rail update v2.3 brings new friends and Simulated Universe on June 19

Honkai: Star Rail update v2.3 brings new friends and Simulated Universe on June 19 https://ift.tt/qfOPkE0

Dear Trailblazers, greetings from the Honkai: Star Rail dev team. Today, we are excited to share the details of Honkai: Star Rail version 2.3, Farewell Penacony. This update introduces the highly anticipated Stellaron Hunter, Firefly, as well as a significant figure from the IPC, Jade. Additionally, under the guidance of Mr. Screwllum, the new update in the Simulated Universe – Divergent Universe – will be unveiled as well.

After inheriting the Watchmaker’s Legacy and embarking on the new Path of Harmony, Trailblazers awaken in the real world following the climactic battle with Mr. Sunday. Now, the abrupt termination of the Charmony Festival has left The Family’s reputation in tatters, with numerous delicate issues urgently demanding attention. In response, aside from the Oak Family, the major lineages are preparing their strategies to address the aftermath. In the version 2.3 Trailblaze Mission, the Express Crew will be invited aboard the Radiant Feldspar, soaring into the skies above Penacony to witness crucial Family discussions firsthand.

Meanwhile, aboard the Radiant Feldspar, a new project within the Simulated Universe, Divergent Universe will be conducted under the guidance of Mr. Screwllum, utilizing technology from his home planet to bring gameplay improvements. For instance, the Arithmetic Mapping function in the Divergent Universe testing removes character download limitations. If a character’s level is below the current Equilibrium Level Cap, it will automatically increase to meet the cap. The update also introduces the Equation feature, where combining buffs from two different Paths grants corresponding combat abilities once the required amount is achieved. Additionally, when facing defeat in the Divergent Universe, Trailblazers can now restart challenges without needing to force-stop the game. With the new Restart Challenge option, players can regroup and give it another shot.

In the upcoming version, Origami Birds will also make their way onto the Radiant Feldspar, bringing a new mini-game. In this arcade challenge, Trailblazers must achieve eliminations within a set number of moves to boost the birds’ Combat Power. During the Origami Bird Clash event, Trailblazers can not only participate in Story Challenges, but also freely battle friends from across the universe!

After venturing alongside the Trailblazers for a time, we will uncover more about Firefly in version 2.3. Firefly is a member of the Stellaron Hunters, originating from the long-destroyed world of Glamoth. Once a prosperous and expansive empire, Glamoth was left thrashed and devastated by the calamity brought on by the Swarm. Firefly, a young girl encased in mechanical armor known as SAM, was created as a weapon against the invasion. Unfortunately, she suffers from Entropy Loss Syndrome due to genetic modification. Driven by the quest to find meaning in life and to defy fate, she joined the Stellaron Hunters to further her goals and calling.

As a 5-star Fire-Type character, Firefly possesses an immense power. After using her Technique, she can summon her SAM armor and leap into the air, moving freely, with SAM attacking all enemies within a set range to enter battle. Each wave of enemies can have Fire Weakness forced upon units without Fire Weakness, lasting for a set number of turns. In the heat of battle, SAM will be operating in two forms. In the initial form, using her Skill consumes HP but simultaneously replenishes her Ultimate energy. The less HP Firefly has, the less damage she sustains. Furthermore, when activating her Ultimate, SAM transforms into its second battle form — the dazzling Complete Combustion state! Alongside more potent Basic Attacks and Skills, her Speed and Weakness Break efficiency are also heightened. The Break DMG dealt by SAM is increased until the countdown for Complete Combustion ends. An aspect worth mentioning is that this state not only displays SAM’s might, but also provides players with a unique perspective from within the cockpit of the SAM mech. In this perspective, Firefly’s unwavering gaze is an embodiment of her fiery spirit, capable of setting the starry seas ablaze.

Another Quantum-Type 5-star character, Jade, is set to make her distinguished debut. As a senior manager in the IPC Strategic Investment Department and one of the Ten Stonehearts, she is recognized by her Cornerstone, Jade of Credit. Cold and elegant, Jade is a skilled moneylender with a keen understanding of the human heart. Her personal hobby, Bonajade Exchange, highlights her patience in waiting for high-value acquisitions through accepting pawning of assets and her ability to extract value from seemingly destitute clients.

Jade’s Skill allows her to forge a binding agreement with a single ally, making them her Debt Collector and bestowing upon them enhancements. Interestingly, if she selects herself as the Debt Collector, the only part of the enhancement will be applied. Each attack launched by Jade or her Debt Collector accumulates Charges for Jade. Once fully charged, Jade unleashes a follow-up attack against all enemies. Her Ultimate, however, enforces the terms of the agreement with unyielding precision, dealing damage to all enemies while also enhancing her follow-up attack.

It’s worth noting that the limited 5-star characters — Ruan Mei and Argenti — will make their appearances in event warps during the first and second halves of version 2.3, respectively. Their formidable strength ensures they will remain powerful allies in your future adventures.

That wraps up our insights on Version 2.3. While there are still more surprises in the wings, we’ll keep this update brief and delightful. We hope you’re enjoying your cosmic adventures, that Firefly and the new Simulated Universe will bring surprises to everyone, and look forward to rendezvousing with you in the next one.

Additional update features

Along with the Photo Mode, we have a few other small additions and features included in this update.

Talent point reset

Players can now reset their talent points from the Field Guide menu to try out different playstyles. You can either fully reset your allocated talent points, or individually undo specific talent points. Each talent point you reset will cost 200 gold.

New cosmetics

We’ve brought a few new cosmetic items to Hogwarts Legacy to add a fresh look to your next playthrough. Our artists were inspired by one of the wizarding world’s most famous Azkaban escapees to make the Azkaban Coat and Azkaban Prisoner’s Outfit.

Last year, we showed off The Glasses That Lived in our Hogwarts Legacy Easter Egg video. Many players asked us how they could get their hands on them, and we’ve finally rescued these circular taped spectacles from the cupboard under the stairs so you can wear them for yourself. You’ll also get the Onyx Hippogriff mount, as well as the new Lavender Borealis broom.

In addition, we’ve made several bug fixes and optimizations for players.

Thank you for all your support for Hogwarts Legacy! The Hogwarts Legacy Summer 2024 update is available to download now on PS5 and PS4, free for all players! Share your favorite captures from the Photo Mode with us using the hashtag #CaptureTheUnwritten, and we’ll see you at Hogwarts.

Concord is now available to pre-order; Early Access and beta detailed https://ift.tt/bimE5xw

Hey everyone! After revealing Concord last week, we’re excited to continue unpacking more about the game and answering your questions in the days and weeks ahead, beginning today with more information about how you and your friends can check out our upcoming beta, details on the physical and digital editions of the game for PS5 and PC¹, and how you can get early access to Concord when it launches in August.

From the very beginning, we wanted Concord to be a complete multiplayer-focused experience that combines engaging gameplay, rewarding progression, and a robust roster of characters, maps, and game modes right out of the gate, while also creating a platform for us to evolve and expand the game and universe over time.

When it launches in August, Concord will debut in a standard edition (available in both physical and digital versions for $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 / ¥4,480 MSRP) that provides the full Concord experience, including all 16 playable Freegunners, 12 unique maps set on various worlds, and six distinct team-based game modes, which will expand shortly after launch with regular, post-launch updates for all players at no additional cost.

Alongside the Standard Edition, we will also have a Digital Deluxe Edition ($59.99 / £49.99 / €59.99 / ¥6,480 MSRP) that includes additional cosmetics to personalize your Freegunner crew and, for those eager to jump in and play, early access to Concord when it launches this August. The Digital Deluxe Edition will grant up to 72 hours of early access before Concord’s global launch on August 23. It also includes the Northstar Freegunner’s cosmetics pack, which grants you 16 Northstar themed Freegunner outfits; one for each of the 16 playable Freegunners available at launch.

Get Vale’s Monarch Pack and early access to the Concord beta

We’re excited for you to meet and learn more about the characters of Concord, including Vale—an adept sniper who you saw in our gameplay reveal trailer using her biomechanical legs to leap above the battlefield and land precision shots on enemies. To receive the Monarch Pack cosmetic pack, which includes the Monarch Frontliner outfit for Vale and Dead Reckoner weapon skins for her sniper rifle and side-arm. You can,  pre-order the standard edition of Concord or purchase the Digital Deluxe at any time.

Seeing Vale and the other Freegunners in action in gameplay footage is one thing, but there’s no substitute for experiencing the game for yourself. That’s why we’re hosting a pre-launch beta, simultaneously on PS5 and PC with cross-play support. Those that pre-order will have an opportunity to be among the first to play Concord—and you’ll be able to bring your friends.

Pre-ordering any edition of Concord will grant you five codes for our Beta Early Access weekend in July, allowing you to team up with your friends on PS5 and PC and take on rival crews across the galaxy. Stay tuned for more details about the Beta beta in the coming weeks, including the dates of Early Access and Open Beta, and more.

Pre-orders for PS5 are now live at participating retailers, PlayStation Store, and direct.playstation.com. Pre-Purchase for PC on Steam and the Epic Store.

Helldivers II enlists The Viper Commandos Warbond on June 13

Helldivers II enlists The Viper Commandos Warbond on June 13

Helldivers II enlists The Viper Commandos Warbond on June 13 https://ift.tt/6w38Yec

Liberty’s greetings, Helldivers! Are you ready to learn all about the new Viper Commandos Warbond?

Firstly, we have been listening to your feedback as we develop our Warbonds in general. The idea behind each Warbond is to allow our Helldivers to roleplay their favorite soldier fantasies within our universe, but it’s important that these are fantasies that actually appeal to our players.

Based on player input, we’re changing our approach to Warbonds moving forward in a couple of ways. Firstly, we’re slowing down the pace at which we release Warbonds to give us a little bit more time to polish these designs before they’re released. We don’t want to rush anything out of the oven before it’s fully baked.

Secondly, we are changing the arrangement of items in each Warbond to make room for new item types, and also higher quality armor and weapons. This will prevent us from simply adding more of everything, which can lead to weapons that feel redundant and uninteresting armor. It’s time to focus on quality over quantity. When we started researching items for Viper Commandos, we wanted to be sure we answered our player calls for stronger theming that coordinates across all the items, more emotes, unique armor passives, and more thoughtful designs rather than simply giving more of the same. We can’t wait for players to get a hold our latest addition, so let’s dive into what’s in store.

Helldivers II enlists The Viper Commandos Warbond on June 13

Think jungle. Think swamp. Think about a hot, humid trek through an untamed, marshy wilderness to do reconnaissance on some unliberated scum.

If you ask me, this is our strongest themed Warbond yet, with Helldivers equipped from head to boots with the finest tools to live out their jungle combat dreams.

What kind of tools, you ask?

Weapons

The items in the Viper Commandos set really sell that fantasy of “up close and personal.”

For a primary, we’re giving you a new version of the Liberator, the AR-23A Liberator Carbine, but this one has a modified, shortened form-factor that handles differently from the true classic, with a bit higher recoil, but faster handling that feels perfect for spraying and praying up close.

You can combine carrying that with the new SG-22 Bushwhacker triple-barrel, sawed-off shotgun with two different firing modes, including one that fires all three barrels at once.

Yes, you read that right. This shotgun is a secondary weapon. Meaning you can equip your favorite AR primary, or your favorite shotgun primary, and keep the Bushwhacker handy for close encounters.

Armor

And the armors are nothing short of inspired. Catch me in the PH-9 Predator, inspired by a veteran of the Viper Commandos who was said to have held off an entire Terminid brood with nothing but a machine gun, pocket knife, and Orbital Laser. The headpiece has a beret, and it looks devastatingly cool when combined with the Mark of the Crimson Fang cape.

We also have the PH-202 Twigsnapper for your jungle heavy, which looks awesome with the Executioner’s Canopy cape. Although, mixing and matching works great for both of these sets.

Both armors in this Warbond feature the Peak Physique passive, which improves melee damage and weapon handling. They both also feature bare arms (and bulging biceps, with a variety of randomized skin tones) to keep you sweat-free when diving in the humid atmosphere.

Patterns, boosters, and more

Another exciting addition to this Warbond is new skins for your hellpods, Exosuits, and Pelican-1, inspired by the classic woodland and tiger stripe camouflage patterns. This pushes  that customizable fantasy just a little bit further, for a really cohesive look for your squad.

One of my things in Viper Commandos is our new utility item: the throwing knife. Imagine mowing down a crowd of Terminids and running out of ammo with only one bug remaining, no time to reload, so you dive backward and throw a hunting knife into its carapace right before it descends on you.

There’s also a new booster called Experimental Infusion, which gives your stims the added bonus of boosting your movement speed and reducing the damage you take for a short time.

We’ve also got capes, player cards, and emotes, too. Check out the rest of the items in the Viper Commandos Warbond:
